Small Business of the Year Finalist 2022
Being nominated for a business award is always an honour but when we look at how businesses have navigated the past two years, the feeling of accomplishment is even greater. So you can imagine our beaming faces when we found out we’re a finalist of the Small Business of the Year Award by Portsmouth News’ Business Excellence Awards 2022!
And on Friday 29th April we had the privilege of attending the black tie gala, hosted by BBC South Today presenter Anjana Gadgil, at Portsmouth Guildhall.
It was an evening of glitz and glam, tasty food and networking, and there was a real sense of achievement in the air. To be in a room with other local businesses who are achieving exceptional growth and contributing to the Portsmouth community was brilliant.
Everyone’s passion for the city shone through, not least by guest speaker, Paralympian Lauren Steadman MBE. Always an inspiration, and someone we’ve had the pleasure of working with, Lauren delivered a heartfelt speech and told us: ‘You can achieve what you want to but it will be on your timeline. You are in control of it.’
We were delighted to be nominated for the Small Business of the Year award and, although we didn’t win, it’s a huge achievement for Millstream. Since we started the company in 2011, we’ve grown from a team of two to nine and now produce around 1,000 videos each year.
We’ve added animation, CGI, drone and workshops to our core offering of filmed video, but more than that, we’ve developed our talented, young filmmakers into confident video experts. We work with some of the world’s premier brands and have ambitions to keep doing more. Watch this space!
