Space South Central
Space South Central is a UK Space Agency-funded organisation and the largest regional space cluster in the UK. They are a partnership between industry and academia, designed to; accelerate space business growth, foster an environment of innovation, grow the reputation of the south-central region and contribute to national prosperity.
The brief
Using video to reach new audiences
Comprising Hampshire, Surrey and the Isle of Wight, Space South Central is home to more than 120 space-related businesses from global heavyweights to exciting start-ups, and world-class universities of Portsmouth, Southampton and Surrey. They required a video that promoted the cluster to businesses around the world to encourage more collaboration in the space industry. The video needed to reach new audiences and showcase the benefits of joining the partnership. We conducted piece-to-camera interviews with businesses that are already part of the cluster to give even more credibility to the partnership.
Filming and editing
Creating bespoke brand assets
When it came to the edit, graphics and animation were used to reinforce key points, such as the word cloud. For this, a 3D camera, that sits within our software, was used to show all the areas they cover. By showing this visual element, it pulls focus to the words and doesn’t overwhelm the audience with a spoken list of services. All the assets were made from scratch for the client so we could set their brand style for future videos and we used music that complemented the theme of the video.
The result
Connecting with more companies
The 3 minute video sits on their website and has been shared on their social media pages including YouTube and LinkedIn that has more than 3,000 followers. We’ve continued to work with Space South Central to deliver more videos that capture and engage their audience.
