Horizon Leisure Centres
Horizon is a not-for-profit organisation that provides facilities and activities that are accessible to the community to make life better. They keep their prices low to encourage regular use and any surplus is reinvested into the facilities to maintain standards, meet customer demands and improve the customer experience. There are three centres located in Havant, Waterlooville and Guildford.
The brief
Welcome to Horizon
Horizon needed a video specific to each leisure centre to welcome new members in a fun and engaging way. Key information specific to each location needed delivering in an easily digestible and memorable format, such as what type of parking each centre has, and how to use the app. The client wanted a friendly vibe and accessible presentation, which animation was perfect for.
Bespoke visual style
Creating the Horizon animated world
Using Horizon’s bright blues and clean shapes, we created a bespoke visual style and recreated each leisure centre to match. Brand assets were thoughtfully incorporated into the backgrounds; for example, you’ll notice the brand’s statement lozenge patterns are reflected in the clouds and trees. The story was told through a cast of fully animated characters, with inclusivity and relatability at the heart of their designs. Clear icons were used to support concepts, as well as a soundtrack consisting of upbeat music and sound effects to add an extra sense of life.

Generating excitement
Three animations were created based on one central story with tweaks for each location. The animation is now being shared with new visitors to onboard them into their chosen Horizon Leisure Centre and encourage them to download the app.
